RCBC Unveils VIP Traveler Credit Card In Partnership With Visa

In partnership with Visa, Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC), and its unit RCBC Bankard Services Corp. (RCBC BSC) launched their latest consumer-centric credit card product, the RCBC Bankard Visa Platinum, for jet setters and leisure travelers.

The product launch held at the Hilton Manila in Newport City, Pasay, revealed the perks and exclusive features that one can avail using the RCBC Bankard Visa Platinum. They revealed the assortment of travel perks, dining privileges, and individual access to one-of-a-kind entertainment that the credit card offers.

RCBC Bankard Visa Platinum cardholders can now enjoy travel-related perks such as unlimited airport lounge access, discounted fares on car rentals, complimentary travel insurance, and even dining and travel privileges through the Visa Epic Experience platform.

In addition, they get to utilize the Visa digital concierge service, which enables them to make dining, leisure, and travel bookings as well as chat with concierge in real-time.

“We recognize the importance of the growing affluent sector. They have a unique appreciation for value and a keen interest for rewarding experiences. Their lifestyle preference is what we had in mind when we launched this new card innovation that specially focuses on experiences,” said RCBC Bankard President and Chief Executive Officer Simon Calasanz.

According to a recent study by Euromonitor International, “emerging and developing countries will see the number of affluent individuals triple between 2017 and 2030 to account for 29.3 % of the global affluent consumer segment in 2030.”

He also mentioned that through this launch they hope to directly target the fast-growing mass affluent market who look at wealth as a means to do and have the things in life that matter: rest, recreation, and meaningful experiences, such as travel.

“Our data shows that travel is one of the top categories spend by Visa Filipino cardholders, and hence, it is natural for us to create a product that is tailored to the needs of jet setters in the country.” added Mr. Dan Wolbert, Country Manager of VISA for the Philippines and Guam.

RCBC Bankard’s president further explained that the recent launch was also brought about by the company’s card base growth by 26 percent.

From more than 625,000 cards last June 2018, “RCBC Bankard’s card base grew to more than 788,000 cards by the end of June 2019,” President and CEO Calasanz said.

RCBC card usage has also increased by 28 percent in the past year.

“With all these [new] amazing rewards and benefits, we believe it will further encourage more Filipinos to make digital payments in the country, and when they travel overseas,” Visa’s Mr. Wolbert added.
