BI Issues Press Release on Requirements of Foreigners Allowed to Enter the Philippines
The Bureau of Immigration (BI), in a press release dated August 8, 2020, has clarified that foreign nationals are allowed to enter the Philippines anytime subject to visa requirements and other documents needed as supporting evidence for travel reasons.
Foreigners, including the spouses of Philippine citizens, under the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) Resolution 60, shall be allowed travel to the country provided that appropriate visas are secured prior to their arrival.
ALLOWED FOREIGNERS TO ENTER THE PHILIPPINES
The following shall be allowed to enter the Philippines:
- Foreign Spouses
- Dependents
- Parents of Filipinos
REQUIRED VISAS UPON ENTRY
Foreigners entering the Philippines shall secure any of the following visas:
- Valid Permanent Visas*
- Temporary Resident Visas*
- Entry Visa
*Visas acquired by foreigners through marriage to Filipinos.
TRAVEL REMINDERS
Foreign nationals shall secure the following upon arrival in the Philippines:
- Authenticated Marriage Certificates
- Other Supporting Documents
APPLICATION FOR ENTRY VISA
The following shall likewise be required to secure appropriate visas:
- Children with special needs*
- Foreign parents of Filipinos
- Foreign parents of children with special needs*
*The requirement applies to children regardless of age.
BI has clarified that visas shall be required upon travel. Those who do not possess a valid visa shall apply for an entry visa.
