The Bureau of Immigration (BI), in a press release dated July 24, has reimplemented travel ban for outbound Filipinos provided that the travel falls under the non-essential category. The bureau, however, made exceptions from the restriction.

  • Tourism Purposes

ESSENTIAL TRAVEL

The following shall be exempted from the reimposed restrictions:

  • Overseas workers
  • Study visa holders
  • Permanent residents in their country of destinations

The following travel reasons shall also be exempted from the restrictions:

  • Medical purposes
  • Humanitarian reasons
  • Business and work-related purposes

OUTBOUND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

The following shall be presented to BI officers as evidence of essential travel:

  • Documents
  • Proof of travel purpose

The travel ban has been reimposed due to lack of company initiative to provide the outbound Filipino travellers with extended travel health insurance.
